Membership is composed of people
just like you wanting to make a difference, drawn from business,
industry, agriculture and the professions. Our members are motivated
by the desire to contribute to the community from which they and
their families draw daily benefits.
There
is no greater opportunity for participation in community affairs
and service than in an Optimist Club.
The
purposes of the Optimist Club are to develop optimism as a philosophy
of life utilizing the tenets of The
Optimist Creed; to promote patriotism and work for international
accord and friendship among all people; to aid and encourage the
development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one's self
in service to others will advance the well-being of humankind, community
life and the world. |
Our
Optimist Club operates autonomously. We choose our own programs,
elect our own officers, and raise our own funds. Decisions are made
by the club Board of Directors.
Our
President is the key officer of our club. She runs good club meetings,
directs and organizes the club to meet its goals and brings together
all members as a contributing team. The club is chartered as a
member of Optimist International, giving us the right to use the
Optimist name, and providing access to the programs and services
of Optimist International.
A team of enthusiastic Members makes up the STOC and still room
to grow....we have silent members and active members and know our
club has a volunteer role to suit your busy life style! |

The Optimist Creed
Promise Yourself -
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness and prosperity to
every
person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to
the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and
give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger,
too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the
presence of trouble.
